Artist Group Shows At Chrysalis Gallery

On Saturday, the Chrysalis Gallery, which is located on 2 Main Street in Southampton, hosted a group show featuring artists Connie Foley, Leonid Gervits, Theresa Giannuzzi, and Richard Hecht.

Leonid Gervits belongs to the European–Russian realistic tradition of painting and drawing. He was brought up on a rich heritage of Russian Modern art—that of Ilya Repin (1844-1930) and Valentin Serov (1865-1911). The artist within that tradition of realist art is highly professional, the product of serious academic training, able to work in a broad spectrum of genres. Impressionistic discoveries are often used in landscapes in a certain mix with a classical air perspective, or in a range of subjects, such as ballet scenes, musicians, and urban life, and their interpretation.
