Kids take over at the 36th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show when it hosts Cablevision’s Kids Day on Saturday, September 3. In addition to performances by Laughing Pizza and the Bellini Family Circus, free admission for kids 12 and under, plus face painting, pony rides, a magician and the $50,000 U.S.H.J.A. International Hunter Derby presented by Meadow View Farms will highlight the day’s activities.

Cablevision’s Kids Day will feature the Laughing Pizza Family Band, whose music videos can be seen on PBS. They will perform three shows at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., and will also be available for autographs. Also featured on Cablevision’s Kids Day:

“Cablevision’s Kids Day is a great day for families to enjoy the Hampton Classic. The special events are there for the kids, while the equestrian competition is there for everyone,” said Shanette Barth Cohen, Executive Director of the Hampton Classic. “We hear from many who come each year that it is their favorite day of the Classic.”

Highlighting the equestrian competition on Cablevision’s Kids Day is the $50,000 U.S.H.J.A. International Hunter Derby presented by Meadow View Farms. This is the first time that the Hampton Classic is hosting a U.S.H.J.A. Hunter Derby, one of equestrian sports’ most popular recent additions. The Classic’s prize money of $50,000 is the top prize for the Derby series events that lead up to the finals. The $30,000 Open Jumper Challenge and the Marshall & Sterling Children’s and Adult Jumper Classics round out the day’s exciting equestrian competition.
