North Fork Potato Chips Wins Grant

North Fork potatoes are growing! North Fork Potato Chips has won a $49,990 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Value-Added Producer Grant Program.

Company owners Carol and Martin Sidor, who own the 170-acre Sidor Farm in Mattituck, hope to use the money to reinvigorate their marketing efforts and boost sales of their snacks, and have also expressed hope that they can one day purchase a chip plant that would also have an educational component teaching about potato chip creation and the storied history of potatoes on Long Island.
