Town Creates Water Quality Fund

The fund, which will allot a dedicated source of money for various projects all aimed at water quality improvement and protection for both fresh and salt water, is the first of its kind in Suffolk County. “As we look at the many initiatives concentrating on water quality, which I believe will be forthcoming both regionally and locally, I envision this as the first step toward providing a funding mechanism,” stated Scalera. Scalera went on to thank the citizens groups as well as the individual residents who provided their input, concluding that “at the end of the day I think we got a better product.”
