At the January 8 Brookhaven Town Board Meeting, Councilman Daniel Panico and the town board honored Center Moriches resident Kayla Mitchell for her appearance on the Fox television program Master Chef Junior.

The 11-year-old, who received a proclamation from the town, appeared on the popular program during its January 6 broadcast and made it through the first episode. Kayla has also won two cooking contests at the Center Moriches Library for her Bon Bon cookies and Crumb Cake.

Panico said, “Kayla is off to a great start in life and I have no doubt that we will hear much more from her in the future. I wish her and her family the very best for continued success.”
