Liam McIntyre has been touted as a leader on his Westhampton Beach football team for years, and now, he has received another accolade for it.
The senior was named a 2018 winner of the Suffolk Zone Student Leadership Award, along with classmate Tori Cummings. The pair were selected based on their excellence in physical education, leadership ability, and service to the community. Cummings and McIntyre were honored by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance November 28.
Each school district nominates a male and female student-athlete to receive the recognition. Also acquiring the award were East Hampton’s Cristopher Criollo and Erin Decker, Southampton’s Megan Robinson and Thomas Gabrielle, Bridgehampton’s Aziza El and James Fairchild, and Hampton Bays’ Christina Coulton and Patricio Pulla.
