From Zero To 2000 In One Hour

A shoplifter on the prowl in Riverhead on February 21 had quite a day.

Riverhead town police said a Caucasian woman about 25, wearing dark clothes with dark hair and glasses was spotted on surveillance cameras in Riverhead that morning. At about 11:30 she allegedly made a hit, acquiring a credit card at the Stop & Shop by unknown means — a customer reported it missing sometime after the fact.

An hour later, just the down the road, the woman was cashing in her largesse, observed on store cameras busily shopping at Target. She checked out with goods worth a total of $2072, and used the credit card that was stolen an hour earlier to pay the tab. She hasn’t been spotted since.

The same two stores figured prominently on the arrest logs this week. Police said they arrested Pamela Renna, 38, of Mount Sinai on March 5 in connection with a theft at the store a year earlier. It was classified as a misdemeanor.

A day earlier two unknown women tried to lift $1010 worth of goods from Stop & Shop at about 3 PM but an alert employee confronted the pair. He recovered the booty but they made their getaway in a silver Honda CR-V.

Robert Blackmore, 50, of Riverhead was charged with petit larceny after he allegedly exited Stop & Shop with $840 worth of goods without paying on March 7. He was released on $500 bail, police said.

An unknown man and woman stole $1364 worth of polo shirts from Tommy Hilfiger at Tanger Outlets on March 8 at approximately 2:45 PM.

A Riverhead man reported while working out at Planet Fitness that someone stole his keys, credit cards, and debit cards from his backpack. The suspect used the cards at multiple locations, according to officials. According to a police report, the suspect was also charged with several violations and provided a false inspection certificate, also a misdemeanor.

Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a revoked license on East Main Street March 4 around 2 PM. Germi Ponce Galicia, 20, was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, officials said.

Giedrius Karvelis, 38, of Riverhead was arrested early on March 7 after a traffic stop on Kroemer Avenue revealed he was driving with a suspended license. And that was just the beginning of his prevails. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and police also found he had an active bench warrant for his arrest.

Southampton Town police arrested a Calverton man March 9 for driving drunk in Hampton Bays. Police said Rene Bonilla-Perez, 35, was driving eastbound in the westbound lane on Montauk Highway around 12:30 AM and found to be intoxicated. They slapped him with a misdemeanor DWI as well as several traffic violations.

Israel Bustillo-Fuentes, 20, of Flanders was stopped for a traffic infraction around 7:30 PM on West Main Street near Griffing Avenue and police determined he didn’t have a valid license. He was also hit with a misdemeanor and processed for arraignment.

Sergio Gonzalez-Ramirez, 25, of Riverhead was also arrested for driving with a revoked license in Speonk on March 5. Gonzalez-Ramirez was stopped for a traffic infraction on Speonk-Riverhead Road at approximately 5:30 PM when an officer discovered his license had been revoked due to a previous DWI offense. He was additionally charged with circumventing an interlock device and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, according to officials.
