A Gala With Heart

The American Heart Association with host the 23rd Annual Hamptons Heart Ball on Saturday, June 22, at the Southampton Arts Center, from 6 PM to 11 PM.

Special honorees this year are John Crean, MD, Nuclear Cardiology, East End Cardiology/NYU/Winthrop and Mark Saporita, MD, FACC, Cardiology and Internal Medicine, East End Cardiology/NYU/Winthrop. Crean and Saporita will receive the Distinguished Service award. Additional award recipients are Toby and Larry Milstein, accepting the Humanitarians With Heart award.

The evening will focus on raising funds for the American Heart Association and its efforts towards saving those from heart disease and stroke, efforts that have continued since 1924. The evening will welcome friends and colleagues from New York City, across Long Island and the Hamptons with heart-healthy foods, local wines, music, and dancing. Live music will be by In The Groove. There will be a cocktail hour and a seated dinner catered by Elegant Affairs, as well as live and silent auctions.

The ball will be chaired by Meredith Cohen and Jason Chinitz, MD, FACC, FHRS. Chinitz is also the Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Emcee of this year’s event will be entertainment reporter on “Good Day New York,” Baruch Shemtov.
