Moving To The Country

By Bridget LeRoy
3 minute 07/16/2019 Share

Are you thinking of moving to the Hamptons full time? Have questions about the education options? Want to meet other families who have made the move? Trying to figure out the logistics and business opportunities?

The Spur has organized a cocktail reception on Thursday, July 25, to allow people to meet other families who have made the move, and hear directly from their experience. There will be information shared on schooling options, and how to make a move as seamless as possible.

The event is sponsored by Ross School, StayMarquis, Suburban Jungle, and The YMCA.

Ashley John Heather moved his family to Water Mill in 2014. He, his wife, Diana, and their three children were looking for a better life/work balance and the Hamptons became their new full-time home.  In 2017, the Heathers launched The Spur. Over 200 members have since joined The Spur community as it grows across the East End.

Alison Bernstein is the president and founder of The Suburban Jungle, a real estate firm exclusively focused on buyers leaving the city for the suburbs. Recognizing how different neighboring towns can be from one another and how little families learn about a community during the home search, Bernstein launched Suburban Jungle, helping buyers navigate suburbia, and understand the ins and outs of towns before making their decision. She had personally experienced these challenges while undertaking her own suburban search, and strived to bring that unique expertise to Suburban Jungle families.

Jason Warnick brings 16 years of experience working in independent, private schools to his role at Ross. Initially a teacher, coach, dorm parent, and dean, Warnick has spent the last 14 years in enrollment management and advancement at Ross.

There will be other speakers and time for mingling. The event will be held at The Spur East in East Hampton, from 5 to 8 PM. To register, visit www.thespur.com.
