Esther Muller’s Academy for Continuing Education is Back to Help Real Estate Agents Learn

When Esther Muller founded the Academy for Continuing Education in Manhattan 29 years ago, she did it out of the love of her heart and her passion for teaching — she wanted to help real estate agents learn the ins and outs of the industry.
Four years ago, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, she lost that drive. Muller shifted her in-person real estate classes online. Not wanting to teach over Zoom, the entrepreneur with over 30 years in real estate continued just with her online program — no webinars, no live sessions.
“I created the program … for the purpose of creating 22 and a half hours that are relevant, that are exciting, that are inspiring, that really completes your empowered profession in order to practice,” Muller said. “I didn’t want to Zoom the program because I felt it was not only an experience, you had to be there and feel it and hear it.”
Then the calls from agents started to roll in. It’s horrible. It’s so boring. Really not learning much. I wish you would bring back to your program. So that’s what she did.
Muller is hosting her first continuing education conference since 2020 this month. She hopes to bring back the fun for agents who are forced to renew their licenses every two years.
“The world’s changes, the politics and the economy, is taking a toll on our agents,” Muller said. “Many have to re-examine and rebrand themselves. With what they’re doing. And they need the passion and they need to understand what the Department of State’s requirements are.”
Muller expects a strong turnout for the return of the conference. If all goes well, she would be interested in bringing back the program on a full-time basis.
“If we get all the love that I’m looking for, and everybody loves the program and loves coming and prefers to do it live, then I will definitely do that,” Muller said. “It makes sense in today’s world to be able to see each other, talk to each other. … I plan on doing that.”
And if enough Hamptons clients insist, Muller plans on bringing the Academy of Continuing Education out east.
“We have a lot of requests,” she said. “People would love to be able to have a beach house that I can do it at, so I’m looking at that also.”
