Can you share the history and founding principles of Reproductive Medicine Associates of NY?
Dr. Copperman: Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York was founded in 2001 by myself and Dr. Tanmoy Mukherjee, along with a team of dedicated fertility specialists. RMA of NY was established with the vision of providing compassionate, evidence-based fertility care supported by cutting-edge research and technology. Our founding principles include a commitment to scientific excellence, individualized patient care, and innovation in reproductive medicine.
Are there any particularly memorable or impactful success stories that you can share from patients who have achieved their dreams of parenthood with RMA of NY?
Dr. McAvey: We have so many inspiring stories from patients and couples over the years. Examples include joy from a successful embryo transfer in a patient who suffered from years of miscarriages, a prior cancer patient who had previously frozen her eggs and now was healthy enough to create an embryo and successfully carry the pregnancy to term and some of the more challenging cases, which include having a successful embryo transfer into a gestational surrogate for a patient that could not carry a pregnancy.
How has RMA of NY evolved since its inception, and what milestones have marked its growth?
Dr. Copperman: Since its inception, RMA of NY has grown to become one of the leading fertility centers in the United States. Significant milestones in our growth include the expansion of our clinical services across multiple locations in New York, the establishment of one of the largest IVF programs in the country, and the development of a robust research program that has contributed to advancements in fertility treatment.
What role does cutting-edge technology play in the services you provide, and how do you stay at the forefront of advancements in reproductive medicine?
Dr. McAvey: Our IVF laboratory provides high success rates by always maintaining quality and assurance metrics along with state of the art equipment and most importantly, our skilled embryologists have the highest fertilization rates and embryo development rates in the country. We rely on these scientists to do the work that allows us to have the most successful outcomes.
How does RMA of NY tailor its services to meet the unique needs of each patient or couple?
Dr. Copperman: Our team tailors services by offering individualized treatment plans based on thorough diagnostic evaluations, patient preferences, and the latest research. We provide personalized care and support throughout the entire treatment process, from initial consultation to ongoing follow-up, ensuring that each patient or couple receives the care that best meets their specific circumstances.
How does RMA of NY support patients emotionally and psychologically throughout their fertility journey?
Dr. McAvey: We have an incredible Wellness team, led by Dr. Georgia Witkin, that is dedicated solely to providing support to patients throughout their journey. At RMA of New York, working with you to improve and maintain your mental health is one way in which we thread together each element of your holistic wellness. We conduct clinical trials, collaborate with academic institutions, and contribute to the scientific community through publications and presentations. Our research focuses on improving treatment outcomes, understanding the underlying causes of infertility, and developing new technologies and protocols.
How does RMA of NY engage with the local community and raise awareness about fertility issues?
Dr. McAvey: We host a number of community events throughout the year. Most recently, we announced sponsorship of The New York Liberty and NJ/NY Gotham FC. b. Our sponsorship is more than a logo in the stadium – as the Reproductive Endocrinology division of Mount Sinai, our industry leading physicians conducted internal educational sessions with staff and players. This has helped both organizations and their fans become more fluent about reproductive health.
How do you envision the future of fertility treatment, and what role will RMA of NY play in shaping that future?
Dr. Copperman: The future of fertility treatment is expected to be shaped by continued advancements in genetic testing, personalized medicine, and minimally invasive techniques. We envision playing a leading role in these developments, helping to make fertility treatments more effective, accessible, and patient-friendly.
