Alex Cooper rang in her 30th with an unforgettable two-day bash at Breakers motel in Montauk, rebranding the iconic spot as “Motel 30” for her end-of-summer celebration on Aug. 23. The Call Her Daddy host, fresh off the news of her blockbuster $125 million deal with SiriusXM, drew a crowd of reality stars, influencers, and friends.
Guests included Hallie Batchelder and Owen Thiele, both rising stars in Cooper’s Unwell Network, a talent company founded by Cooper and her husband Matt Kaplan, Bachelor alum Maria Georgas, and Love Island USA’s Leah Kateb and Miguel Harichi. After the Breakers party wrapped, the crowd moved to the after party at Common Ground East.
The wildly successful podcaster-turned-businesswoman (her flagship show Call Her Daddy has been Spotify’s No.2 charting original behind Joe Rogan) dressed in a sheer knit dress and played the perfect host, pouring drinks from behind the bar while famous chef Mario Carbone was slinging his iconic spicy pasta dish at a Carbone pop-up.
Controversial billionaire Elon Musk didn’t hold back during his recent stay at the Capri Southampton hotel, calling out the Hamptons’ notorious lack of reliable cell service, slow speed of Wi-Fi and the small size of his sleeping quarters.
“The room I stayed in at [the] Capri was tiny and the Wi-Fi is in desperate need of an upgrade, along with cell service in general in the Hamptons,” the SpaceX founder told “Page Six.” The Capri is a $1,000-a-night hotspot known for its popular Ketchy Beach restaurant and attracting big stars.
The Capri’s co-owner, Mayank Dwivedi, sympathized with Musk’s frustrations. “While some people come out East to unplug and unwind, the biggest titans in the world, Elon included, also need to conduct business and the internet needs to be brought to 21st century standards,” Dwivedi told “Page Six.” “I’d love to work with [Musk] to modernize the entire network. It would be an absolute dream.”
Musk was in town for Michael Milken’s annual Hamptons Prostate Cancer Foundation gala when he voiced his frustrations in front of fellow billionaires like Bill Ackman and Stephen Schwarzman. “I had important texts to respond to on the way here and couldn’t… people were asking where I was, Timbuktu?” he quipped, reported “Page Six.”

Tense footage emerged of Jennifer Lopez losing her cool at paparazzi while enjoying an ice cream on an outing on Main Street in East Hampton. The star, 55, who filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, on Aug. 20, was with Loren Ridinger, co-founder of Market America, when shutterbugs invaded her personal space. “Get away from me and the kids. Go away, go away,” she snapped.
Letting go isn’t easy, and some Hamptons parents are feeling the bittersweet sting of becoming empty nesters as their kids head off to college. As the school year kicks off, stars like Jessica Seinfeld, Brooke Shields and Gwyneth Paltrow are opening up about their emotional transitions, sharing a mix of pride, nostalgia, and heartache.
Amagansett residents the Seinfelds have officially entered the empty nest club after dropping off their youngest, Shepherd, at college. Jessica Seinfeld, alongside photos of move-in day — including husband Jerry Seinfeld’s classic dad-style dorm room inspection — shared a heartfelt note on Instagram: “Move-in weekend. All 3 baby birds have flown. Hope all of you first timers or last timers are holding up. #classof2028.”
For Shields, the thought of her youngest daughter Grier leaving home this fall has been hard to swallow. “I thought I would be relieved, but I don’t know,” the Southampton resident confessed earlier this year to People. She posted a playful Instagram video showing her sprinting out of Grier’s dorm after drop-off, capturing her mixed emotions about the shift: “The thought of no longer living 24/7 in the house with these people that I’ve raised, it’s just very foreign.”
Meanwhile, Amagansett resident Paltrow touched on becoming an empty nester at her company Goop’s joint dinner event with Audemars Piguet event on Aug. 22 at Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill. “It’s so fleeting,” Paltrow told attendees while reflecting on life. “As somebody who’s about to be an empty nester, I can tell you how fast live moves, especially right now, particularly.” Paltrow’s 18-year-old son Moses, who she shares with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, is set to attend Brown University.
