After seemingly living under a microscope of public scrutiny in the wake of the Rust tragedy, many were surprised to see Amagansett resident Alec Baldwin open the doors of his home to reality TV cameras. But that’s exactly what’s happening. TLC has released the first trailer for The Baldwins, an intimate look inside the lives of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and their seven children. And if the preview is any indication, life in the Baldwin household is anything but quiet. “Seven children, six animals, two parents. Wild family,” Hilaria quips in the trailer, setting the tone for a series that captures both the chaos and closeness of their daily lives. The trailer acknowledges the 2021 death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, with Hilaria reflecting, “A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy. This is never something to forget, and we’re trying to parent through it.” Alec, at one point, gets emotional as he tells Hilaria, “Honestly, from the bottom of my soul, I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have you and these kids.” The series also highlights the realities of life in the public eye, with Hilaria instructing their children to “just ignore him” as they navigate paparazzi. The couple is seen visiting an integrative psychologist, affirming, “We’re solid, and we’re here together.” The footage offers a candid glimpse into their dynamic—from playful moments, like Alec being tackled in an impromptu wrestling match, to lighthearted parenting exchanges, including Hilaria’s blunt, “Why are we eating chocolate?” and Alec’s poolside plea for no peeing in the water. But the show doesn’t shy away from weightier topics. The series premieres Feb. 23 on TLC.

Sagaponack’s Jimmy Fallon has officially taken his first bow on Broadway. The Tonight Show host stepped onto the Hudson Theatre stage on Jan. 28, making his Broadway debut in All In: Comedy About Love, the Simon Rich-penned production featuring an all-star rotating cast. The play, directed by Alex Timbers, explores love, heartbreak, and marriage through Rich’s signature humor. With SNL creator Lorne Michaels as a producer, the production has drawn a lineup of SNL alumni. “Even though the show’s kind of all over the place, [All in] is meant to tell one simple story: that the most important part of life is who we share it with,” the show’s official description says, according to People. The show promises “laughter, romance, live music, and people you recognize from television—all in 90 unforgettable minutes,” it added.

Sag Harbor Cinema played host to an intimate evening of film and conversation on Jan. 19, as co-writer Mona Fastvold and production designer Judy Becker attended a special screening of Best Picture Oscar-nominated The Brutalist. Following the film, the duo took center stage for a Q&A, offering insights into the creative process behind the acclaimed drama. Starring Adrien Brody as a Hungarian architect who escapes war-torn Europe to rebuild his life in America, the film has captivated audiences with its striking visuals and layered storytelling. Fastvold co-wrote The Brutalist with her partner Brady Corbet, who directed the film. “The Brutalist was seven years in the making, shot in three countries on film in large format VistaVision, and almost entirely independently financed,” said Sag Harbor Cinema’s Artistic Director Giulia D’Agnolo Vallan. “The depth, vigor, and boldness of its vision solidify 36-year-old Corbet as one of the most exciting and daring directors working in contemporary cinema and makes his collaboration with Fastvold an inspiring one to watch.” The film has already made a major impact this awards season, earning three Golden Globe wins for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, and Best Actor in a Drama for Brody. In addition to securing an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, Brody is also in the running for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the prestigious ceremony in Los Angeles on March 2.

In more movie news, Water Mill resident Jennifer Lopez was visibly emotional as Kiss of the Spider Woman received a standing ovation at the Sundance Film Festival, Variety reports. Lopez fought back tears as she addressed the audience at Park City’s Eccles Theatre, calling the moment the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” she said. “The reason I even wanted to be in this business is because my mom would sit me in front of the TV and [West Side Story] would come on once a year. I was mesmerized and was like, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ This is the first time I actually got to do it. This man made my dream come true.” She was referring to director Bill Condon, known for his work on Chicago, Dreamgirls, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast remake, and The Greatest Showman. The premiere also marked Condon’s first return to Sundance since his 1998 film Gods and Monsters, starring Ian McKellen and Brendan Fraser.
