A new documentary chronicling the accidental death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, starring Alec Baldwin, and its aftermath is heading to Hulu on March 11.
Just a few weeks after the premiere of the Baldwin family’s new reality series on TLC airs, Last Take: Rust and the Story of Halyna will include first-hand accounts of the events. Documentary director Rachel Mason calls Halyna a “dear” friend.
“My hope was to make films with her, and to support her in all the many films that she was sure to make. In the media frenzy which followed her death, it felt as if Halyna was erased, her loss eclipsed by the surrounding controversies,” Mason said in a statement. “Our film aims to keep her at the center, while offering a portrait of the experience of those whom she spent her final 12 days, which hopefully, through their efforts, offers the world a very much unfinished portrait of Halyna.”
The news is likely to put the Amagansett resident under renewed scrutiny. Last month, Baldwin filed a civil rights lawsuit against officials in Santa Fe, New Mexico, alleging he was wrongfully prosecuted for manslaughter in the death of Hutchins. Last December, prosecutors dropped their appeal of a court’s decision to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter charge against Baldwin.
Model Christie Brinkley, a resident of Bridgehampton, has announced she is putting pen to paper, in a forthcoming memoir scheduled to hit shelves sometime this spring. Titled Uptown Girl, Brinkley will tell of her life and career journeys, from being discovered outside a phone booth in 1974 in Paris, to her work as a model and an actress.
According to reports, Brinkley will dig deep into her personal life, including her relationship with her biological father, “harrowing experiences” that nearly ended her life and her four “tumultuous marriages.” Brinkley’s book title is a nod of course, to her ex-husband Billy Joel, whose music video for the song “Uptown Girl” starred Brinkley in 1983. The book will also feature photographs and dozens of Brinkley’s own artwork, reports say.

Brinkley celebrated her 71st birthday on Feb. 2 at her Bridgehampton home surrounded by friends. Her daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, threw a “fiesta” in honor of the supermodel, who confirmed the margaritas “were flowing.”
“The laughter, the music, the friendships, family, the love … these are what I cherish the most and am ever so grateful for,” Brinkley captioned a series of photos from the intimate gathering.
Celebrity chef Olivia Tiedemann had a sweet TV moment that shined a light on her early career in the Hamptons as a private chef. The 27-year-old, who has amassed 5 million followers across social media platforms, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, who asked how she got started in the industry.
“Well, I was a chef in restaurants for a while,” she said. “I obviously really like to cook. And it was kind of like a kismet moment. I got an opportunity in the Hamptons, and I went, and now I’m here with you.”
Tiedemann, who is known for showing off her attitude for the camera — her signature gesture on every cooking video is to flash a middle finger at the end — got more sentimental on Instagram Story, sharing a photo of her and her dad on the late night show’s set.
“My dad is a construction worker who worked in Rockefeller Center. Today he got to come there and watch me be on @fallontonight and that’s the biggest thing on earth to me,” she wrote.
Tiedemann has not disclosed which high-profile clients she’s had in the Hamptons, but the social media star recently moved to Texas. She confirmed she’s currently working on a cookbook, to which Fallon, a resident of Sagaponack, said he would certainly buy.

Another Hamptonite shaking up the food scene is actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who recently revealed she’s written the foreword for David Nayfeld’s new book. Titled Dad, What’s For Dinner? The book is meant for any dad, mom, grandparent, guardian, caregiver who struggles with a variety of options when it comes to cooking dinner daily for kids, the description says.
“This book is about father daughter love and is full of the BEST recipes. Proud to have written the [foreword]. I just preordered mine,” Paltrow said on Instagram.

Hamptons DocFest and Southampton Arts Center are coming together for the celebration of Black History Month with a “Communities of Resilience” program scheduled for Feb. 22. The event will feature a keynote presentation by Dr. Georgette Grier-Key, director of the Eastville Community Historical Society, and Renee Simmons, the President of SANS Sag Harbor, about the history of three historic black Sag Harbor SANS neighborhoods of Sag Harbor Hills, Azurest and Ninevah. The event will also screen the documentary “San Juan Hill: Manhattan’s Lost Neighborhood” directed by Emmy Award winner Stanley Nelson, who will virtually appear after for a Q&A.
Fans of Selling the Hamptons might remember a striking glass-walled East Hampton estate that appeared on the HGTV show in 2021. Originally listed for $7 million, the property was the setting for a high-profile VIP party thrown by the cast in hopes of landing a buyer. But according to Realtor.com, it has been on and off the market ever since. Now, it’s back — with a reduced asking price of $6 million.
Designed by architect and engineer Jeffrey Smillow — who led the team behind the construction of the World Trade Center after 9/11 — the ultra-modern, three-story residence spans 10,000 square feet, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling glass walls that give the six-bedroom, seven-bath home a minimalist aesthetic.

Moore.
