Amagansett’s own Alec Baldwin took center stage at Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton on March 13, charming guests with stories over dinner at a benefit for the Hampton Library’s capital campaign.
Joined by Bill McCuddy, the Saturday Night Live alum mingled with “every table” in the room, a source told “South O’ The Highway.” The $400-per-person event proved to be money well spent.
“He was super fun,” the source said. “Alec told great stories of SNL and what it was like to [impersonate] President Donald Trump for four years.”
Baldwin also reminisced about the 1992 film Glengarry Glen Ross he starred in, as well as his early days in the Hamptons in the 1980s.
Despite recently admitting on his and wife Hilaria’s TLC reality show The Baldwins that work has been hard to come by, the Oscar-nominated actor is back in action. His career has been slowly rebounding after the tragic Rust set shooting in 2021.
Just two nights before the fundraiser, Alec and Hilaria were in full host mode at the grand reopening of Planet Hollywood in New York City, which had been shuttered since 2020 due to the pandemic. Hilaria, turning heads in a form-fitting lime green dress, called it an “iconic New York night.”
The Baldwins weren’t the only A-listers in the room. The star-studded affair drew Arnold Schwarzenegger, Whoopi Goldberg, Pete Davidson, 50 Cent, and Boy George, who took the stage for a special performance.
Hamptons regulars were well represented, too. Sag Harbor’s Luann de Lesseps, Bridgehampton’s Sailor Brinkley-Cook, frequent visitor Rebecca Minkoff and Montauk’s Liev Schreiber all joined in the festivities.
Meanwhile, Schreiber and his ex Naomi Watts had plenty to celebrate on March 9, as their daughter Kai made her runway debut for Valentino during Paris Fashion Week.
“That’s my @maisonvalentino baby! I’m squealing with pride. Ilysm [I love you so much] @kaischreiber,” Watts gushed on Instagram.
The 16-year-old, the youngest of Schreiber and Watts’ two children—they also share 17-year-old son Sasha — soaked in the milestone moment, sharing snaps from the show and writing that her heart was “so full.” Her famous dad chimed in: “Beyond beyond Kai.”
With her big break also came inevitable criticism about nepotism, with some suggesting Kai’s gig was thanks to her famous last name, but Schreiber was quick to shut it down.
“I’m going to put it to you like this: What if you were a professional actor, and your child decided they wanted to do something in this world? Do they have a choice of what you did?” he told TMZ.
The proud dad made it clear Kai is forging her own path. “That’s her life. She does what she wants with her life, and I’m super proud of her. I thought she did an amazing job in the show.”
East Hampton resident Billy Joel is hitting pause on his tour — but not for long. The legendary Piano Man announced he’s postponing eight upcoming concerts due to a medical condition, assuring fans he’ll be back on stage soon.
A statement from the Uptown Girl singer revealed that doctors advised him to take four months off for recovery and physical therapy following a recent surgery.
The good news? He’s expected to make a full recovery and will resume touring at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on July 5.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” Joel said. “I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for understanding.”
And if fans need further reassurance, Sailor Brinkley-Cook — who affectionately calls him “Uncle Billy”— insists he’s doing just fine.
“He’s totally healthy, and it’s just some things that he has to deal with,” Brinkley-Cook told Us Weekly, adding that she’s “excited for him to be able to get back” to doing what he loves.
Joel, of course, was married to her mother, Christie Brinkley, for nine years before their split in 1994. The former couple shares a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel.

Meanwhile, Brinkley is diving into a new project of her own — recording the audiobook for Uptown Girl, her upcoming memoir. The 71-year-old Bridgehampton resident shared a behind-the-scenes sneak peek on Instagram, revealing that she couldn’t resist adding a musical touch.
“I was trying to sing my audiobook because I’ve always imagined my life as a musical!” she wrote on March 12. “Part rock, pop, opera (soap opera!) and a whole lotta soul!”
